Thuja occidentalis is a fast growing small conical shaped evergreen tree reaching heights 15 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Use as a screen, formal accent or pruned as a hedge. Bright green scale-like leaves, small woody cone. Emerald Green Thuja is one of the most popular cultivars for its upright tight foliage and bright green foliage. Grows well in full-sun or light shade however in heavy shade the form may become open and loose looking. Prefers moist well-drained loamy-soil however Thuja are quite adaptable to most soils and locations. This cultivar shows excellent cold and heat tolerance.
