Sunflower Plant

Elvis asks:

Question

We have a sun flower plant that is about a foot tall. We started it from seed in a small paper cup. It was growing great and green. We transplanted it to the outside, in a spot that gets lots of sun. Now the plant is droopy and pale. One of the stalks are cracked (midway) as well. What can we do to make sure it survives?

Answer

Sounds like the there is a water issue either too much or not enough. Over watering could lead to root issues (disease) which could cause the plant to lose its ridged structure. Not enough water will cause the plant to wilt, wilting could lead to the plants own weight damaging the stem. I would first check the soil moisture level by sticking your finger down a couple inches moist soil will your finger will come up dirty, dry your finger will come up rather clean.
