Disease resistant cross by Dr. Dan Dayton, Univ. of Illinois, has especially good foliage retention during summer. It blooms later than most crabs. Bark is a glossy dark red with numerous prominent lenticels and the fruit does not drop. 1996 Iowa Tree of the Year.
