Scindapsus plants

Dannah asks:

Question

Do Scindapsus plants grow faster in water or soil?

Answer

A Scindapsus may do well in water for a period of time however longterm the plant will do best planted in soil. I recommend a soil mixture of equal parts of peat and loam with sand to make it porous and well drained (Houseplant specific soil will do just fine as well).
Place your Scindapsus spp. in a warm location in your home away from doors and windows that may get drafty during the winter, they prefer bright sunny locations but avoid direct sunlight.

Scindapsus is a small group of tropical vines from Southeast Asia grown mostly as a houseplant around the US.
