Poinsettia, Acid?
slylar@ asks:
Question
Are poinsettias acid loving plants?
Answer
Poinsettia are from the family Euphoribiaceae which are not known as acid loving plants. Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) do best when planted in common potting soil with the addition of some small bark. Water moderately during regular growth, apply a houseplant liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks. While in bloom the plant only requires minimal water and no fertilizer, resume regular watering once there are signs of new growth.
