MiracleGro Soil For Veggies

dwight28412@ asks:

Question

I mistakenly bought miraclegro potting soil for plants, shrubs, I have already used this to plant tomatoes, okra and squash. What can I expect?

Answer

The MiracleGro tree and shrub soil is composed of a blend of coarse forest products, sphagnum peat moss and manure as well and phosphorus and iron and is designed to release the nutrients over the course of 3 months. The fertilizer makeup of the MiracleGro soil is a relatively mild blend of (N)0.15 - (P)0.05 - (K)0.10. You may see some bushier plants development and a flush of initial growth but overall there should be no extremely noticeable effects. The time-release fertilizer should be mostly gone by the time your vegetables are ready to be picked.
