Fungus on Snapdragons

abaxter@ asks:

Question

My Snapdragon have some sort of what appears to fungus developing. What is causing the fungi?

Answer

Antirrhinum or snapdragon have a few common fungal diseases; gray mold, fungal leaf spot, rust, root rot, downy mildew, fungal wilt disease and Souther blight. Most of these fungal disorders on Snapdragon are caused by over watering, poor air circulation, overhead watering, and humid condition.

Try reducing the amount of water the plants receive or how the flower bed receives the water. Allow the soil to dry between watering. Many biotic plant disorders in gardens are associated with overwatering.
