Chionanthus retusus is a small tree native of China, it has a rounded spreading form with pure white fragrant flowers. The flowers are borne on the terminal end of stems in mid-summer. Plant in full-sun to partial-shade. Prefers moist well-drained acidic soil conditions. The Chinese Fringetree makes a great addition to any garden landscape, the perfect small tree.
